Students – Booking, Payments & Verification

Student Verification – How does HeyStudent confirm I'm a genuine student?

We require official proof such as a university offer letter, enrollment confirmation, or valid student ID. This ensures all bookings are made by genuine students, protecting our community from scams and misuse.

Booking Eligibility – Why can I only book after completing student verification?

Verification ensures hosts know they're renting to a genuine student, which increases trust and means your booking is more likely to be accepted instantly.

Instant Booking vs Approval – Can I secure a property instantly, or do I need host approval?

If a listing is marked as Instant Book, it's yours immediately after payment. If it requires Request to Book, the host will review your request, usually within 24 hours.

Advance Bookings – Can I book a property now for the next academic year?

Yes — in fact, we recommend it, as the best student properties get booked months before term starts.

Hosts – Listing, Payments & Management

Listing Requirements – What do I need to provide to get my listing live?

Basic property info, pricing, availability, high-quality images (or we can take them for you), and verification.

Availability Management – Do I upload availability or does HeyStudent?

You will need to upload and update your availabilities to keep your calendars accurate.

Booking Mode – Can I choose instant book or request-to-book?

Yes — you can choose whichever works best for you and switch anytime.

Payment Timing – When will I be paid?

Payouts are released immediately after payment is made via Stripe.

Tenant Quality – How do I know the student is genuine?

Every student is verified with official documents before booking.

Communication – Will I talk directly to students?

The communication prior to booking will be made through HeyStudent. After a booking is made the contact details of both parties is disclosed so hosts and students can speak directly.
